Milan, Sept. 19, 2024 - xFarm Technologies, the tech company that helps the agri-food sector go digital, will be among the outstanding exhibitors at the "Expo G7 Agriculture and Fisheries" in Ortigia, in the heart of Syracusa, Sicily (21-29 September). The exhibition is part of the official programme of events for the G7 Ministerial Meeting on Agriculture, which will bring together representatives from the United States, Canada, Japan, France, Germany and the United Kingdom, as well as nine delegates from Africa.
The company will present its technological solutions to the thousands of visitors expected to attend the event. Participants will have the opportunity to see some of the tech company's most important proposals up close, in particular the functions of the xFarm platform, the FMIS (Farm Management Information System) designed to make farmers' work easier. In a single platform, available both on mobile and desktop with multiple modules and functionalities, users are in control of every aspect of their farm, from administration to agronomic management, from personnel organisation to logistics. The aim is to improve the economic efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of farms and supply chains. xFarm Technologies will be welcoming visitors in the tech area along the Foro Vittorio Emanuele II.
The xFarm platform's AI-powered Decision Support Systems (DSS) will be among the many tools that xFarm Technologies will present to visitors at the 'Expo G7 Agriculture and Fisheries'. These DSSs collect and process data from xFarm Technologies' sensors connected to the platform and help farmers by providing predictions on a variety of production-related aspects.
For example, using data from soil moisture sensors, xFarm Technologies' DSS can determine the water status of the soil, ompare it with the needs of the crop and calculate irrigation requirements. This allows for more efficient use of water resources, which is critical as climate change causes long periods of drought.
They also help increase the effectiveness of crop disease treatments and reduce wastage of pcrop protection products by predicting the risk of infection and the level of protection of treated crops. This allows farmers to intervene only when and where necessary. In addition, Disease Recognition, a feature integrated into the xFarm platform, uses an artificial intelligence algorithm to identify diseases in the field from a simple photo taken with a smartphone
Fot insect pests, the tech company offers the xTraps automated traps, which use image recognition algorithms to automatically detect and count captured insects. Used in conjunction with the Insect Module, which tracks population development using a predictive model, they enable targeted treatments, increasing effectiveness and reducing waste.
"We are proud to be part of this exceptional global showcase. We are looking forward to telling the Italian and international public about us and to meeting the other outstanding companies taking part in the 'Expo G7 Agriculture and Fisheries'. It is an opportunity to present our technologies to a wide audience, not only of industry insiders, but also of consumers interested in the possibilities of digital agriculture," - said Matteo Vanotti, CEO of xFarm Technologies.
