The collaboration is aimed at ensuring better management of all agronomic stages along the entire supply chain.

Sixty farms are involved in the operation that are part of the supply chains created by Tulli Cereal Culture: the soft wheat and durum wheat, cookie wheat, corn, and organic supply chains.

Mosciano Sant'Angelo (TE ) - Tulli Cereal Culture, a well-established group in the Italian cereal sector, is betting everything oninnovation. In fact, the Abruzzo-based company, which spans every stage of the supply chain, from seed supply to delivery to food companies, announces that it has partnered with xFarm Technologies, the tech company that aims to digitize the agribusiness sector. The operation involves the 60 farms that are part of Tulli Cereal Culture's supply chains: the soft wheat and durum wheat, cookie wheat, corn, and organic supply chains

Goal of agreement: technology to serve supply chain optimization

Tulli Cereal Culture's goal is to integrate xFarm Technologies to provide its 60 customers with increasing transparency along increasingly sustainable supply chains. In fact, Tulli Cereal Culture follows the product, step by step, from production to distribution by forging synergies and agreements with all the actors in the supply chains, from research laboratories to farmers to the food industries to which it confers production, with benefits for the entire production system.

Being part of Tulli Cereal Culture's supply chains means having maximum sharing on processes, assurance on compliance with hygiene and sanitation parameters and support in case of critical issues. "Precisely in order to foster an increasingly better management of the dialogue between all those involved, thus ensuring increasingly traceable and controlled products, Tulli has decided to rely on our technologies. Our reality is supporting the group in farm management and in general in monitoring the entire supply chain, with sensors and decision support systems for disease control and other advanced services permigliorare sustainability. -explains Giovanni Causapruno, Global Head of B2B at xFarm Technologies.

Agriculture 4.0 in the field: sensors and predictive models

The 60 farms that are part of the supply chains will thus be able to take advantage of the xFarm platform to optimize farm management and agronomic operations. Available on both mobile and desktop, the platform enables comprehensive supply chain management by ensuring that farmers can monitor their farms in real time and thus improve the various production stages. For supply chain managers, on the other hand, it will allow timely control of aggregated data and real-time comparison of key farm parameters and indicators through the portal Analytics.

Of particular support to farmers is the installation of 14 weather stations along the farms in the supply chains and the Defense function, a specific module of the platform xFarm, capable of predicting pathogen infestations thanks to environmental parameters detected directly from IoT sensors installed in the field. These include the leaf wetness sensor xNode Leaf for timely and circumscribed phytosanitary treatments.

Indeed, leaf wetness sensors are capable of detecting leaf moisture, measuring both the onset and duration of moisture on a simulated leaf. Being able to predict disease or infection is of paramount importance especially in today's highly threatened environment of adverse climatic phenomena such as periods of drought followed by heavy rainfall above the usual seasonal averages.

In order to introduce the platform to all parties involved in the project and thus enable proper and effective use of the tool, xFarm Technologies has provided a training course ad hoc held by the team of experienced agronomists and engineers in the field.

Tulli Cereal Culture, through this collaboration, promotes an increasingly technological and innovative future of agriculture, overcoming the usual limitations that have always been implicit in the sector itself. Thanks to the team of trained technicians and the means that xFarm Technologies provides support, customers are guaranteed not only greater attention along all agronomic stages, but also increasingly sustainable and traceable supply chains.
