xFarm Education and xFarm Academy , these are the two main free training courses to "train the future of agriculture" offered by xFarm Technologies, a reality that supports the work of more than 500,000 farms belonging to more than 100 supply chains on 7.7 million hectares in more than 100 countries around the world.

January 24, 2025 - On the occasion of the International Day of Education (Jan. 24) xFarm Technologies, a tech company that aims to digitize the agribusiness sector, is again this year promoting two training courses and some important educational innovations. From the field to the desk for an agriculture that thanks to new digital technologies is increasingly sustainable. The rising costs of production inputs, the scarcity of raw materials, the instability of prices but also of demand and, last but not least, the ongoing climate crisis, are in fact pushing agriculture toward necessary changes of course and adjustments of skills from a 4.0 perspective.

xFarm Education and xFarm Academy , these are the two main courses offered by the tech company, aimed at young students, who will have the opportunity to test themselves directly in the field, and at agronomists, who from this year will be able to obtain CFPs, Professional Training Credits, necessary for the continuing education of members of their respective orders. xFarm Technologies has in fact obtainedaccreditation as a training agency from CONAF (National Council of Agronomy and Forestry Doctors), and therefore delivers a selection of courses through SIDAF (Sistema Informativo Dottori Agronomi e Dottori Forestali, or Information System for Agronomy and Forestry Doctors).

"The world of agriculture is moving toward a context in which it is now essential to master digital tools and new agronomic techniques. In particular, continuing education is critical for agronomists who must master digital tools and new agronomic techniques. Not keeping up cannot be an option in a context where current technologies can truly positively revolutionize many production contexts. Training is a challenge that must be taken up, now" -comments Lucia Risoli, Ag Tech Education Manager at xFarm Technologies.

Synergy with schools and universities

With the project xFarm Education the agritech reality collaborates with agricultural-oriented faculties, both three-year and master's degrees, agricultural institutes (professional and technical), as well as Higher Technical Institutes (ITS) with an agricultural focus, aiming to train students and teachers in the field of Agriculture 4.0. At the moment the project, which aims to "train the future of agriculture," has to its credit the collaboration with 122 realities between schools and universities, with students trained all over Italy, from Veneto to Sardinia. xFarm Technologies, enabled on the new public administration portal Mepa, not only delivers lessons tailored to each reality, but also makes its technology, including sensors, available, digitizing the teaching farms of institutions and university poles according to packages designed around the agronomic needs of each individual institution. Existing collaborations include one with CIHEAM - Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Bari, withEIIS - European Institute of Innovation for Sustainability in Rome for the Master Program "Innovation for Sustainability in the Agrifood sector,"ITS Fondazione EAT of Grosseto and ITS Fondazione Minoprio of Vertemate (CO). Also among the high schools involved along the peninsula are IIS Calvi in Finale Emilia (MO), IIS Spallanzani in Castelfranco Emilia (MO) and IIS Bentegodi in Caldiero (VR).

Space for continuing education

The initiatives of xFarm Technologies are also geared toward the constant updating of professionals working in the field. Precisely for this need was born xFarm Academy, a totally free online course open to all professionals: agronomists, land surveyors, field technicians, farmers, new graduates and undergraduates. The course, consisting of live lectures on a weekly basis, reaches its 15th cycle this year, with more than 1,500 professionals trained. The goal is to impart the most expendable knowledge and skills in smart farming today, teaching how to manage every aspect of the farm more sustainably and intelligently. Various aspects of modern agriculture, such as resource management and the use of digital platforms and data to optimize farming activities, are addressed in the course of the classes.

With the participation of its agronomic research team, xFarm Technologies also offers xFarm On Air, the webinar series in which the latest updates and features introduced in the xFarm platform are discussed, the Farm Management Information System (FMIS) developed by xFarm Technologies to support farmers and agribusiness operators in the digital management of their agricultural activities.

Regarding CONAF courses, the first one will be delivered in collaboration with RINA Service S.p.A. Course entitled "DIGITAL AGRICULTURE - Innovations and Technologies for Sustainable Agriculture" online on January 27-28-29. For all those interested, the training offered by xFarm Technologies will be in the catalog on the information system of agronomists and foresters.
