xFarm Technologies, a company specializing in the field ofAgriculture 4.0 and in digitization and sustainability projects for agri-food supply chains will be present again this year at Enovitis in Campo (Polpenazze del Garda BS, June 7 - 8 - Vineyard F) the Italian trade fair dedicated to viticulture technologies. At this edition 2023 will bring important innovations whose common denominator isArtificial Intelligence. Two absolute novelties will be presented at the fair: Disease Recognition aimed at field operators and FarmView designed for the B2B world.
Disease Recognition, from photo to diagnosis: AI for disease identification in the field
Disease Recognition, the latest feature in xFarm Technologies'app , allows the user to identify, in a few quick steps, the phytopathologies present in a crop, thus simplifying field monitoring. How does it work? Simple. Thanks to this unique tool, all you have to do is open the 'app xFarm , take a picture of the plant and theArtificial Intelligence, with which this function is equipped xFarm, will identify in real time the pathology most likely to have affected it. Thanks toapp , it is also possible to record and store where and when the onset of the disease was detected and share the collected data with colleagues and technicians.
"Disease Recognition, a feature integrated with the xFarm platform, allows for more convenient control of both large and small expanses of land by enabling the creation of a history of disease detections, which is useful for planning defense interventions even in subsequent years. All this benefits efficient use of products and consequent time and economic savings. Once the disease is detected, it is also possible to take immediate action or use the forecast models developed by the platform for even more optimized interventions," - adds Alessandro Bucciarelli, Head of Agronomic Products & R&D at xFarm Technologies.
The second novelty that xFarm will bring to Enovitis in Campo is dedicated to the B2B world, the new FarmView system aims, through theintegration of technology from xFarm Technologies, to make agricultural sprayers perform better.
FarmView leverages Image Computing to enable new services related to optical recognition. In fact, the system consists of a pair of chambers for real-time recognition of the density of the leaf canopy of vines, as well as hazelnut orchards and other specialized crops, and anArtificial Intelligence system that calculates the amount of phytosanitary product needed, in base the images acquired by the chambers. The extremely smart system is also able to automatically recalibrate product distribution directly in the sprayer's electronic control unit. FarmView also allows fruit counting in the field, enabling a forecast of final yield and the creation of vigor maps. Theapp xFarm also provides valuable information on field variability and the amount of product distributed for better crop management.
"Smart Spraying technology fits within our InCab Services offering and brings with it great advantages, including less residue on the finished product therefore higher quality, lower environmental impact and significant cost savings. The implementation of this technology on new-generation sprayers will also allow manufacturers to differentiate themselves in the market, enabling an expansion of the services offered," - comments Alessandro Bucciarelli.
At Enovitis 2023 it will also be possible to learn about all the products and solutions offered by xFarm Technologies for monitoring including xTrap an insect trap with a camera in three different versions: Delta, which involves the use of pheromones, Color which attracts insects through specific color sheets and Zukii which uses a food attractant instead. The trap, which is connected to the xFarm platform, allows for real-time visualization of the progress of captures, and through the use of machine learning, automates the counting of key pest insects. There will also be a chance to find out the details of the predictive model based on degree days capable of predicting infestation trends for effective pest management.
