xFarm Technologies - an innovative startup for digitization in agriculture - and Cereal Docks present the new app SISTEMA GREEN® for monitoring and sustainability of Italian grain and oilseed supply chains.

(Milan, April 12, 2022) Close and timely monitoring of all links in the agrifood supply chain to improve traceability, sustainability and efficiency from field to table. Farmers who are partners in the supply chains promoted by Cereal Docks, a leading Italian industrial group in agrifood first processing, now have a new digital tool to help them manage their farm and field activities in a transparent, timely and fast way. From the collaboration between xFarm Technologies, a company active in the digitization of the agrifood supply chain, the Agronomy Department and the R&I of Cereal Docks Group, comes the new app SISTEMA GREEN®, the result of an approach under the banner of Open Innovation that has enabled the development of personalized and flexible services capable of generating truly useful innovations.

SISTEMA GREEN® by Cereal Docks identifies the Italian traced, sustainable and certified agricultural supply chains of soy, white corn, sunflower and derivatives. The collaboration with xFarm represents the natural evolution of a brand that for 10 years now has allowed Cereal Docks to enhance the work of more than 11 thousand Italian farms, providing digital support that will help them be even more digital, efficient and sustainable.

Theapp GREEN® SYSTEM will thus enable Cereal Docks supply chains to take full advantage of the technologies and benefits of Agriculture 4.0, increasing the efficiency of the data collection and management process. This will help to intervene in the field promptly and only when necessary, so as to optimize input use, leading to benefits in terms of both economic and environmental sustainability.

In practice, the new app SISTEMA GREEN®, gives the ability to digitally manage the farm in a 360-degree way, allowing for smartphone viewing of the cadastre, satellite views of fields, and monitoring of warehouse inventory. Also included is the ability to schedule work on crops, save reminders about future activities to be carried out at precise points on the plot, and receive agronomic suggestions for optimal use of plant protection products, water and fertilizers.

The advantages are also considerable from the point of view of administrative management, because with SISTEMA GREEN® it is possible to have a direct thread with Cereal Docks: a digital campaign notebook that allows all the information that qualifies the company as a partner of Cereal Docks' sustainable supply chains to be sent with a simple click.

In addition to providing a tailor-made digital ecosystem for Cereal Docks supply chains, xFarm Technologies is committed to sharing its know-how gained in recent years with conferring farmers through 4 targeted training events. In the coming months, the focus will be to consolidate the project and develop other specific functions: such as one for communication, which will help supply chain leaders to be more connected to farms by directly sending notifications to farmers who can be updated in real time on all news and updates directly fromapp SISTEMA GREEN®. For the future, xFarm Technologies and Cereal Docks are working to extend the project to all 11,000 farms participating in the supply chains, with a view to making production more sustainable and efficient through a wider monitoring network, also taking advantage of IoT sensors, to allow easier verification of compliance with specifications, carbon credit counts and other important parameters for monitoring sustainability. In fact, at a time in history where guaranteeing and ensuring the safety of what you bring to the table are indispensable values, having specific technological and digital solutions is crucial.

"Today, agriculture increasingly needs tools that can collect and analyze data with punctuality and precision," says Giovanni Causapruno, Agrifood Business Manager at xFarm Technologies. " The enhancement of the complexity present within the agrifood supply chain can no longer ignore technological innovation. xFarm Technologies stands out as the player that can concretely help the players in this sector."

"We are very pleased with the work done together with xFarm Technologies, a partner always ready to support us in digitization, says Andrea Pietrobelli head of the Agronomy Department at Cereal Docks. This collaboration allows us to materialize one of the nine commitments for the generation of shared value, contained in the new charter of Benefit Society, with the will to bring innovation to agriculture and to strengthen the link with the farmers who participate in our supply chains."

Theapp GREEN SYSTEM® is already downloadable free of charge for Android and iOS devices on the AppStore or Google Play Store, and additional pro services are also available for companies wishing to take advantage of all the benefits that digital offers.
