Fabbrico, 4-11-2022 - Environmental and economic sustainability, increased productivity and reduced waste: these are the main challenges of a modern and future-oriented agriculture that Argo Tractors and xFarm Technologies, a tech company aiming at the digitization of the agribusiness sector, have decided to tackle together, united in a digitization project that builds on the leadership the two companies can bring to bear, respectively, in cutting-edge agricultural mechanization and data analysis and processing and its application.
The Reggio Emilia-based multinational, manufacturer of Landini, McCormick and Valpadana brand tractors, has been active for several years now in an ambitious digitization process that, starting with investment in B2B and B2C e-commerce, in Isobus technology in telematics and telediagnostics thanks to a framework agreement with ACTIA and in GPS-assisted driving developed with Topcon, now reaches levels of absolute excellence and avant-garde thanks to the partnership agreement signed with xFarm Technologies, which provides for the application of the Farm Management Information System (FMIS) to all the group's products.
"The collaboration we are inaugurating today," stresses Simeone Morra, Corporate Business Director of Argo Tractors - is a further step in the path of digitalization in which we have always believed and invested and at the same time represents the start of an ambitious strategic plan that will see us offer our customers increasingly cutting-edge tractors, capable of responding to the needs of a modern operator and an increasingly mature market from the point of view of environmental and social sustainability, which also means greater efficiency, productivity and waste reduction. The future of agricultural entrepreneurship passes through a competitiveness that today more than ever is measured in terms of product quality, higher productivity and lower costs, data collection, integration and application. All this is made possible by this new partnership, which we believe represents a plus in terms of competitiveness for both companies."
The project builds on the experience of xFarm Technologies, which developed the platform of the same name xFarm, born out of the need to provide operators with a simple and intuitive farm management system. Theapp offers several functions base that simplify bureaucracy, enabling fully digital management of fields, activities and fleet. In addition, through in-field sensors and connected machinery, it enables comprehensive, real-time monitoring of the farm and equipment, supporting the farmer in operational and agronomic decision-making. Also benefiting from this collaboration will be all players in the agribusiness supply chain. Indeed, farm machinery data represent the real glue of agriculture. Digitization not only ensures greater agronomic efficiency, but also improves production control at the supply chain level: interconnected means record every activity performed, improving traceability and integrating sustainability reports.
"This strategic partnership," says Matteo Vanotti CEO of xFarm Technologies, "rests on a common vision: to provide farmers with the right technological tools to produce more and more efficiently and sustainably. Agricultural machinery provides an invaluable data source, we are happy to collaborate with an international player like Argo Tractors on this project. Having tools for data analysis and processing is in fact the first step in making the most of tractors, providing new services and constant support to farms."
"The digital strategy on which Argo Tractors has been investing for several years now aims to offer customers an inclusive experience: from the tractor to its related services, digital and off-line, with smart and user-friendly management," comments Antonio Salvaterra, Marketing Director of Argo Tractors. "In our digital project, centrality is reserved for customers and sales networks, which can interact directly, benefiting from cutting-edge but uncomplicated technology, to the benefit of efficiency and profitability."
