Verona, Jan. 25, 2024 - The tech company xFarm Technologies, a company specializing in the field of Agriculture 4.0 and in projects for digitization and sustainability of agrifood supply chains, will be present at the 116th edition of Fieragricola 2024, the international agriculture exhibition scheduled to take place in Verona from January 31 to February 3, 2024(Hall 11, stand C4).
For xFarm Technologies it will be an opportunity to present its technology solutions based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) to thousands of professionals and experts from all over Italy and beyond. Precisely in the context of the Verona fair, the committee established for the Fieragricola 2024 Innovation Award decided to award "Golden Leaves" to Smart Spraying, the tech company's solution, which leverages AI algorithms to implement variable rate distribution (VRA) of liquid products on specialized crops such as vines and hazelnuts, and the"Silver Leaves" to xTrap, the smart traps for remote monitoring of insects, developed in collaboration with theEuropean Union under the EIC call, capable of automatically counting captures, which can be used to implement integrated pest management solutions. The award ceremony will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 3 p.m. in Puccini Hall at the Arena Convention Center.
The integrationof Smart Spraying technology with theVLN(Visual Line Navigation) autonomous driving system devised byCOBO, a historic Brescia-based company active in the design of system solutions for the off-highway sector, will also be presented, which also exploits computer vision and Artificial Intelligence technologies for automatic driving, which is particularly useful in the lanes of a vineyard. The integration of the two technologies thus enablesautomationandoptimizationof agronomic operations, especially defense operations.
Attendees at the kermesses will have the opportunity to learn first-hand about some of the most important features of the xFarm platform designed to facilitate farmers' operations and based on systems that leverage Artificial Intelligence algorithms.
These include the Defense module, the decision support system (DSS) for the control of plant diseases, based onArtificial Intelligence and created to provide farmers and technicians with advice on the most appropriate time to carry out treatments, ensuring the best possible protection for crops, but also Disease Recognition , which, simply by taking and uploading a photo into the system, through computer vision algorithms, allows for the recognition of numerous diseases. Not only that, there will also be a chance to learn more about the Insects module that, in combination with the xTrap remote insect monitoring trap, is designed to automate the control of harmful insects in the field and predict the evolution of their populations. We will then discuss the Irrigation module, which can optimize the use of irrigation resources through recommendations generated on base by Artificial Intelligence algorithms capable of autonomously interpreting data collected from sensors such as, for example, weather stations and soil moisture sensors.
During the fair, xFarm Technologies will be featured in several events. It starts on Jan. 31 in Hall 11, Area forum digital, at 10 a.m., with the conference "xFarm for farm management, the case of contractor Gobbo Ag Services"; followed by the seminar "Digital farm management" at 12 p.m. at the stand of CIA-Confederazione Italiana Agricoltori(Hall 11, stand B4). Also at the CIA booth, on Feb. 3 from 10:30 a.m. there will be a seminar "The benefits of drones in agriculture," in collaboration with Skydrone 360.
"Fieragricola is a very important event for the agricultural sector, but also for the livestock sector, on which we are working with international partners. We are very happy that, on this important occasion, the daily commitment that our team directs toward the development of cutting-edge products has been recognized with the awarding of the Innovation Awards. During the fair we will have the opportunity to show our new technologies to the public; we look forward to meeting farmers, but also machinery and equipment manufacturers, and present all the latest innovations related to Artificial Intelligence and digital applied to agriculture." - comments Matteo Vanotti, CEO of xFarm Technologies.
