I am Andrea Benetti, of the La Spina Agricultural Society. Today we are located on the farm in Guastalla in the province of Reggio Emilia. The reality was born many years ago thanks to my grandfather, who started with breeding and cereal production to meet the needs of livestock farming. Then my father took over, and to this day it is me, my brother and my father.
We cultivate about 200 hectares and raise about 40 dairy animals for the production of Parmigiano Reggiano.
One of the main reasons we started using xFarm is that we did not have a single management software for collecting all business data.
In 2018 I know xFarm and we start using it in the company. Initially I also signed up because I was intrigued by the novelty. At the time,app could only be used via computer.
We started tracking fields and recording some activities. Whenapp for mobile came out, things became much easier and faster, and our use ofapp also increased.
Last year we started using sensor technology and installed the weather station to monitor rainfall and environmental parameters.
In addition, to date we have integrated various precision farming machinery and connected fertilizer spreader, seed drill, and trailed sprayer. In this way we can have all the data of each piece of machinery in one management system, which can be consulted at any time.
