May 22, 2025 - SaMASZ and xFarm Technologies have launched an ambitious five-year digitization project to revolutionize Polish agriculture and bring it into the era of Agriculture 4.0. Poland, a European agricultural powerhouse, will benefit from cutting-edge technologies that will help farmers operate more sustainably, efficiently and profitably. In addition, SaMASZ machines will gain new smart features and can be purchased using funding dedicated to innovation in agriculture. Based in Zabłudów, SaMASZ is a world leader in the manufacture and sale of high-quality agricultural and municipal machinery, while xFarm Technologies is a leading Swiss technology company in Europe for the digitization of agriculture, also very active in South America, which with its Farm Management Information System (FMIS) supports the work of more than 500,000 farms belonging to more than 100 supply chains on more than 8.6 million hectares worldwide.
In the agricultural machinery sector, digitization is key to monitoring machines, analyzing their operation, collecting data to optimize their use, and predicting maintenance needs in advance. SaMASZ is already a major player in the agricultural sector, both in Poland and internationally, where it also operates through its subsidiaries in the United States and in the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Germany. Its equipment and machines, such as disc mowers, hay turners, rakes, flail mowers, booms, boom attachments, snowplows and tractor sweepers, are exported to more than 70 countries around the world, facilitating farmers' work and helping them produce high-quality forage.
The digitization provided by xFarm Technologies will increase the efficiency and competitiveness of SaMASZ machines globally, as it will enable them to meet the most current market needs. The Swiss tech company will provide the Polish partner with a customized version of its innovative SaaS system, with all the functionality of the xFarm platform, and connect SaMASZ's Isobus machines, disc mowers, hay turners and rakes.
And because SaMASZ has always focused heavily on innovation, xFarm Technologies will also develop a diagnostic platform that will provide SaMASZ's R&D department with data that the company can use to further improve its machines. The Swiss tech company will also support SaMASZ in developing its products in all the markets where it operates and in conducting tests in its model farms abroad.
"Excellence and innovation are two key words for SaMASZ, whose machines compete with the best brands internationally. That's why we are excited about this project, which will allow us to contribute to the further growth of a company that, like xFarm Technologies, strongly believes in the power of digitization, artificial intelligence and new technologies in general to make farmers' work a little easier and their farms more sustainable," says Karol Czerwiak, Business Manager Poland at xFarm Technologies.
"We are very pleased to have the opportunity to participate in a digitization project that will put the best of the technology and solutions developed by xFarm Technologies at the disposal of SaMASZ, a forward-looking family business that has always placed technology and innovation at its core," says Pier Alberto Gobbo, Head of European Markets at xFarm Technologies.
"This project represents another step forward in the digitization of haymaking equipment at SaMASZ, which will allow monitoring of machine operation in terms of utilization, performance and diagnostics. The aggregated data will be able to be used to have an overall assessment of machine efficiency throughout the season. The future development of artificial intelligence-based mechanisms will pave the way for the possibility of evaluating forage in terms of composition and nutritional value, ensuring adequate supply at well-defined times," notes Piotr Cebeliński, Sales Director Poland of SaMASZ.
So far, the two companies have collaborated in a pilot project to connect three categories of SaMASZ machines, achieving excellent results. That is why they have decided to start this five-year project and take their collaboration to a global level, extending it to all markets where SaMASZ operates, starting with the most important ones, such as Poland, Germany, the United States, Canada, France, Ireland, Latvia, Italy, Australia, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
