I have been a front-end developer since 2017 and have worked in IT since 2012.
I have been in xFarm for a few months and have been involved in software testing, but I am also delving into software development. This is my first experience in the field.
Definitely be one step ahead of the competition. Transpose new ideas before others and be ready to change. Also, make sure the customer receives a quality product.
I started my studies in Brazil. After high school I moved to São Paulo, where I discovered my passion for technology and computer science, so I ended up getting a bachelor's degree in computer science. Soon after, I started working, but I wanted to do more. Therefore, I decided to move to Italy (my grandmother is Italian), and after getting my citizenship, I moved to Milan.
I met xFarm through LinkedIn. It sounded interesting to me, and after a short time I joined the team. I realized that Mary had great potential in IT, so I started pushing her in that direction. I knew there was a need for new employees and I knew her qualities.
After finishing compulsory school I worked in administration. With Nathalya we have known each other for 17 years, we studied together in Brazil. We lost each other and met again after 10 years here in Italy. When I arrived in Italy I worked at different jobs until Nathalya convinced me to go back to study. I could see Nathalya was very happy with her work. Following her advice I started to train myself independently, had an interview and joined the team. I cannot thank her enough for being so persistent.
I've been here for just under a year, but it feels like a lifetime already. There are always new ideas, new projects. There is so much flexibility and willingness to work together to achieve a goal. There are different teams, but in the end we all collaborate while maintaining independence. There are many opportunities to get to know colleagues outside of work life as well.
I miss my family and the warmth of my country, but I am happy to live here. I prefer to think about my growth, and here I found the right opportunities.
I would not be able to go back to Brazil, although I miss my family as well. I want to continue growing and working here.
The satisfaction of working for a long time on a process and successfully concluding it. In contrast, starting a new project poses many challenges.
Being able to bring end users a product that improves the quality of their work.
In college I was the only woman in my class. Then the industry evolved and in our city in Brazil I would see women working in every field related toIT. In the jobs I did there I always had many female colleagues. As I said in the video we made in xFarm on Women's Day: we have so much to give in the IT sector and in the agribusiness industry, but we are still too few.
I find that in Brazil there is more freedom to follow one's passions and there is more diversity. There are no unwritten rules related to gender. Here in Italy I worked as a warehouse worker and a courier, and I was always getting comments about being a woman. But nowhere is it written that some jobs are women's and some are men's. I hope it will lead to more openness.
xFarm Is growing every day and I think it will grow even more. When I started there were 8 of us in the team IT, today there are 20 of us. I hope to have a career here for a long time to come. But I want to grow more. I just finished a master's degree in project management, which I hope will help me advance professionally.
I want to continue to learn every day, contribute to the growth of the company and continue to build my professional figure.
