Nov. 28, 2023-With 390,000 farms and 49 percent of its territory made up of land dedicated to agriculture, Ferme France is Europe's leading agriculture, and a highly attractive market. It is therefore not surprising that xFarm Technologies, a technology company headquartered in Switzerland and specializing in the digitization of agriculture, which already offers its services to 300,000 farms worldwide, covering a total of a 3 million hectares in more than 100 countries worldwide, has decided to offer its innovation to French farmers.

After years of sustained growth in Europe and Latin America, and after important collaborations with companies and groups of international importance, xFarm Technologies has also begun to support the path of modernization undertaken byFrench agriculture with cutting-edge technological solutions that are particularly suited to viticulture. Solutions that the company will present in Montpellier at the Sitevi fair, a reference event for the wine, oil and fruit and vegetable supply chains, from November 28 to 30 (hall B6, stand B6 D 037).

"We want to address French farmers, who are increasingly aware of the opportunities of Agriculture 4.0, and who face epochal challenges such as climate change, rising raw material costs and the growing demand for sustainability from consumers and agrifood companies. Farmers, moreover, who have to manage complex farms with substantial land areas. The xFarm platform , available on both PC and app mobile, can provide an answer to these issues, simplifying farm management, and increasing the efficiency of use of inputs such as water, fertilizers and plant protection products, resulting in reduced costs and increased sustainability, which can be accounted for to the end consumer thanks to 4.0 technologies," says Matteo Vanotti, CEO of xFarm Technologies.

For Thomas Collet, the company's Business Manager France, "It is a great honor to be able to support French farmers by providing them with cutting-edge technology like that of xFarm Technologies. With our solutions, French agricultural enterprises, known worldwide for agrifood excellence, first and foremost wine, will have the opportunity to be even more sustainable and competitive."

Among the most interesting solutions for viticulture in Europe's breadbasket, the xFarm platform offers Disease Recognition, thanks to which it only takes a few quick steps to identify the phytopathologies affecting a crop, making it easier to monitor fields. Simply openapp xFarm , take a picture of the diseased plant, andAI-based algorithms will allow it to identify, in real time, the disease most likely to have affected it. The same app also makes it possible to record and store where and when the disease was detected and share the collected data with colleagues and technicians.

"Disease Recognition, a feature integrated with the xFarm platform , allows for more convenient monitoring of both large and small expanses of land by enabling the creation of a history of disease detections. All this benefits efficient use of products and consequent cost and time savings," explains Alessandro Bucciarelli, Head of Agronomic Products & R&D at xFarm Technologies.

Also innovative are the services offered by xFarm Technologies for increasingly intelligent and sustainable crop defense against insects, starting with the xTrap traps, which are equipped with cameras for automatic insect monitoring. Connected to the xFarm platform, the traps enable real-time visualization of catch trends and, thanks to machine learning, automate the counting of key harmful insects. Through a predictive model, moreover, the platform uses this data to make predictions of infestation trends and recommend the most suitable time to carry out treatment, applying an integrated pest management approach.

Among the various services available, the xFarm platform offers farmers the opportunity to greatly simplify the management of bureaucracy, which is particularly complex, especially in wineries that carry out frequent field interventions throughout the season. In fact, the platform makes it possible to keep track of all the products in stock and automatically record all the activities carried out in the field, complete with an indication of the plot where they were carried out and the date, providing all the information needed to quickly compile documents such as the treatment log.

In addition to farmers, xFarm Technologies is also targeting original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). For example, with its new Smart Spraying system, which through the integration of the company's technology aims to improve the performance of agricultural sprayers on specialized crops such as vines. Smart Spraying consists of a pair of cameras for real-time leaf canopy density recognition, and an Artificial Intelligence system that calculates the amount of plant protection product needed based on the images acquired. This is an extremely advanced system, which also automatically recalibrates the distribution of the productin the sprayer's electronic control unit, implementing true variable-rate distribution.

All these innovations will be presented by xFarm Technologies from November 28-30 in Montpellier at Sitevi in Hall B6, booth B6 D 037
