From Veneto to Calabria, 114 companies in Jingold's Italian kiwifruit supply chain will now be equipped with the Jingold Farm platform, designed entirely by xFarm Technologies. This implementation will promote transparency, sustainability and efficiency at every link along the production chain.

The platform will also be equipped with the forms necessary for the facilitated completion of the electronic Farmer's Field Notebook (QDCA), which is required by law as of January 2026.

April 29, 2025 - xFarm Technologies, a company that supports the work of more than 500,000 farms belonging to more than 100 supply chains on 8.6 million hectares in more than 100 countries around the world, announces a partnership with Jingold, the global kiwifruit specialist, which produces and distributes innovative yellow, red, and green-fleshed varieties around the world, a benchmark for industry players and end consumers.

The objectives of the partnership are the digitization of the entire Italian kiwifruit supply chain and the adoption by the feeders of Jingold Farm, a customized platform developed by xFarm Technologies designed to track all phenological phases of plants and related field activities. The digitization of farms in the Jingold supply chain not only ensures complete traceability of the product, but also enables the systematic collection of data critical for monitoring environmental and social sustainability. Thanks to these tools, it is possible to measure the impact of agricultural practices in terms of resource use, emissions, energy efficiency and compliance with integrated production specifications. An approach that results in continuous improvement in environmental performance and the enhancement of farmers' work by rewarding the most virtuous practices.

Users of the Jingold Farm platform will also have at their disposal the xFarm forms necessary for the facilitated completion of the electronicFarmer's Field Notebook (QDCA), the compilation of which will become mandatory from January 2026. The digitization of the supply chain will thus bring great benefit to the farmers involved, who will benefit from fewer Checks in the initial transition phase and arrive more serene to the fulfillment of the regulatory obligation.

The project in detail

The project began in 2024 with training activities focused on digitization and the value of data, not only at the company level, but also at the supply chain level. 114 companies were involved, distributed in 10 Italian regions (Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Emilia-Romagna, Friuli Venezia-Giulia, Lazio, Lombardy, Piedmont, Apulia, and Veneto), which, thanks to the implementation of technologies proposed by xFarm Technologies, will now be fully digitized. This will make it possible to record all actions taken in the field, creating a pool of data essential for accurate reporting, not based on estimates alone. Collecting and storing data related to the activities actually performed in the field allows for a much more accurate calculation of the actual environmental impact of the supply chain, thus enabling any inefficiencies to be corrected. Primary data are also of fundamental importance for the creation of sustainability reports, which can comprehensively communicate the various environmental, social and governance aspects related to the supply chain.

The Jingold Farm platform was developed around the specific needs of the kiwifruit supply chain, closely related to the particularity of the management of this crop, which requires a lot of attention from an agronomic point of view. In fact, it must be monitored carefully, as at each phenological stage the plant has different needs, and it is therefore necessary to schedule the appropriate cultivation interventions in a timely manner to ensure that a quality product is obtained. For this reason, dedicated functions have been included to monitor the different stages of kiwi growth, from sprouting to ripening, so that the crop can be followed accurately from year to year, even if there are variations in plant development related to fluctuating climatic factors.

"We are very pleased with the project carried out with Jingold, a high-profile company that makes product goodness its flag. Its supply chain is large and fragmented, which makes the need to digitize processes even more urgent and now more necessary than ever. This transition is undoubtedly accelerated by the need to comply with the new regulatory obligation represented by the Farmer's Field Notebook: supply chains will play a very important role in this transition, providing the necessary tools to their conferees, as Jingold has done. We are confident that, after an initial running-in phase, the data collected will be useful for a further improvement of Jingold's organizational efficiency, with clear and decisive spin-offs also on environmental impact," says Matteo Vanotti, CEO of xFarm Technologies.

"For us at Jingold, quality does not improvise: it is born in the field, grows with the experience of our producers and is consolidated through innovation - says Claudio Pisi, quality manager at Jingold - The collaboration with xFarm Technologies was a natural evolution of our path: combining traditional agronomic knowledge with the precision of digital data. The ability to track every crop intervention in a timely and systematic way allows us to finally have a real picture of what is happening throughout the supply chain. This not only raises our quality standard, but also allows us to make more informed and timely decisions that benefit the product, the consumer and the environment. The Jingold Farm platform, tailored to the needs of kiwifruit, is a concrete tool that helps us enhance the daily work of our farmers and propel it toward a more sustainable and transparent future."

xFarm Technologies and Jingold will be exhibiting at Macfrut (Rimini, May 6-8, 2025); the project will be presented on May 6 at 10 a.m. at Macfrut during a private conference addressed to Jingold producers, titled "Jingold - Road to 2030: A road to travel together."
